And this is one of the many reasons that I still continue to travel...


FINALLY got a call from Miss Kristi,( mi non-blood related sister).. and whaddya know.. she and her husband are in Knoxville, which is only 4 hours from site!

The tragic part is .. they were Broken Down in Knoxville.. but had a hotel room and were staying for the evening.


So.. I'm in Tennessee! With Kristi!

Apparently spending the night since the van is not quite yet un-broken. But it's close. So, there is much revelry to be had.. and mass internets.

This last weekend rocked as far as sales and happy people.. here's to the hope the rest of the show continues in that vein.

Other updates to come.. interesting things are afoot.

howdy do Kristi and Douglas. Small world. Hope they're doing fine, of course if they are still driving that hunk of junk, Serenity around, no wonder they are broke down. But I understand it can make point 5 past light speed.

Tell'em hello, and that she should pay my Journal a visit to see what we have been up too, and that if they are going to be ANY where AT ALL near western Maryland, they should plan to stop in and stay a couple of days at least...or a month if they like.

And she well knows that I certainly don't extend that offer to just any ole hippy out there.

Hi, it's Kristi! Hijacked Shannon's puter for a few to say hello. We are heading for NY, to Clearwater Music Festival on Hudson River. By Fri afternoon. No problemo. We dropped our drive shaft (holy frickin crap, lemme tell you!) at 60 mph. Back end fortunately, pulled over, packed kittens into carriers, hiked along freeway, hopped fence (that sounds too effortless, we pushed pulled hauled over fence!) to get to hotel, caught ride with stranger to pet friendly hotel, settled kittens into room, called AAA, walked back to van. AAA dumped her in hotel parking lot, next day found Pepboys only .2 mi away. Didnt have Ujoint we needed. Walked 5 mi to get part, couldnt get ujoint into drive shaft, hoisted drive shaft onto shoulders and walked to Pepboys and had them do it. Back to parking lot, drive shaft on, hmmm, tire squeaking sounds like bad brakes. Cant get lug nuts off, screw it, drive to Pepboys, brakes are fine, need bearings!!! This is our 3rd night in hotel, Serenity is going to be done in morning, and we've spent way more money than we intended!

Its all been amazingly unstressful, believe it or not. I'll check out journal when we stop at inlaws tomorrow night. We'll be at another music festival a few weeks later, otherwise dont know what we're doing until MD starts. If we are anywhere near you, we'll stop! And I do indeed know that offer isnt extended to just anyone! Thanks! Love to all, K

Anybody who wants to visit us in NZ, the clock is ticking... This time next year we'll be gone! And I can't promise as nice a guest room after this...
