I have no idea what the hell is wrong with me lately. Besides stress..

Lately I haven't wanted to eat the tasty tasty animals. I used to LOVE eating the tasty tasty animals. Now.. I look at hot wings and think..Mmm..sounds ok.. but no thanks.

The closest I've come is cheese. I'm still in love with cheese, Cheese and I shall never part.

But tonight, the choices were fried chicken, or falafel. And the falafel won hands down. Meat just does not sound appealing to me at all. And this has been going on for about 3 weeks now. I'll crave fish on occasion, but even chicken just doesn't sound good.

Maybe I have some weird disease that makes me want to eat healthy food.

Either way the falafel was delish.

Ugh.. back to work. Next time I need to remind myself to NOT make headdress designs and then forget to take notes.

The Cure

4 or 5 or ish years years ago, I suddenly went from a dedicated carnivore to not eating red meat for a couple of months, followed by no meat at all as a rare New Year's Resolution. It was when I discovered I was a far far more versatile cook than even *I* gave myself credit for. I didn't miss meat in the least.

It lasted just a little over 2 weeks. Went to Texas Roadhouse on a first date and proceeded to TEAR UP a 22 ounce steak. That first bite was like finding an old lover. It was pink, and warm, and juicy. It was Sex on a Plate.

It happens. Your body tells you what it needs. Just listen to it.

If you find your tastes are going more vegentarian for the moment, I highly recommend some good eggplant parmesan or if you can find it or make it yourself general tsao tofu. Both dishes are amazing.

I am far from a vegetarian, but I think people miss out far too often by not indulging in some of the better vegetarian dishes out there.

I do. My body has a tendency to protest loudly if I don't, then goes on to make me regret it.

That is one of the many good things I've heard and witnessed with vegetarians. You're forced to become more diverse and to try new things, and most vegetarians I know are amazing cooks.

Heh.. I have a great image in my head of you ripping into a hunk of cow.

I haven't been much into red meat in months.. but when I do I want it, I want it RAW.. like.. make sure the fat is at least crispy but that's it. I want that meat rare enough to at least kick back at me when I bite it.

And I don't think I can give up sushi. Ever. Kill me if I think of giving up sushi.

Eggplant Parmesan us amazing.. I have a few vegetarian friends who are excellent cooks, so I've been lucky in being able to try some of their tasty dishes. I'm not too big on tofu. Every now and again ok.. but its texture is still a little creepy.

And I will completely WHORE myself out for cous-cous.
