meccahiWell I just got a flaming call from Hell.
Supervisor found out that I wasn't coming in this last weekend and tried to ream me.
I pointed out to her that I had not promised to work this last weekend. She was the one who assumed and just put me on the schedule.
She also said that she probably would have cut me loose before I reached my two year anniversary so that I wouldn't receive my 80 hours of vacation pay if she thought my last shift was last weekend. I'm not even sure that's legal.
Ugh.
All in all.. I am SO glad I am done. I may be broke but at least I'm free of that place. I just hope I don't starve in the process. I'm sure she's going to do her best to reduce my last paycheck ( we'll see if that happens). And she'll probably try and reduce my vacation check. But either way I'll still have money coming in. I have to go and drop my badge off tonight when she's not there seeing as I really don't want to deal with her.
She also said that she was "thrown under the bus" by my letter to the owner and president, and that maybe I'm the reason that there's so much negativity in the SOC.
Umm sorry lady.. I'm there at night.. on the weekends.. when there's only one other person in the SOC with me. I don't think I'm your sole reason for things going to hell there.
The Corporate World can kiss my lilly white behind goodbye. I am so done with this.

Date: 2007-10-18 10:16 pm (UTC)I would totally fight it. I'm not sure if Arizona has specific laws on vacation pay, but since you're not being terminate should have the right to collect on the unused hours. In a nutshell, you've earned it and they need to know why you're leaving.

Date: 2007-10-19 04:40 am (UTC)See I turned in my two weeks notice over two weeks ago.. actually almost 3 now.. My 2 year "anniversary" was on October 11th. I legitimately worked past my 2 year date... so legally i don't think they can do anything.
However what she was saying was that if she had known that I was only going to work until last weekend, she'd have let me go on the spot when I turned in my 2 weeks notice... just so that I wouldn't get to my 2 year anniversary.
They're not really big on the ethics methinks.
