ZOMG INTERNETS!
Jun. 4th, 2008 01:37 pmHello all..
Finally have internets for a little bit, thanks to ye olde public library.
SO much has gone on in the last week that my head still hurts from spinning.
Left Mesa late ( no surprise). Drove a little over 1900 miles with about 100 lbs of canvas strapped to the top of my baby car.
Made it to Kentucky fantastically late. Molly had a hotel room ready and waiting for me. Good gods I love showers and not sleeping in 4 cubic square feet of car seat.
Molly and I set up the tent without anything falling on our heads or explosions.
Totally ditched responsibility on Friday night and went to Waverly Hills.. ( OMG WAVERLY HILLS!!!!). Molly and I walked around with a group and had a digital recorder. Mass geekery abounded. Also stupidity in the form of a guy insisting that every fart in the wind was a paranormal experience.
Molly and I are also going to hell for thinking that the Body Chute was kind of like a slip n slide for greased dead bodies.
I saw a door move on its own.
The weekend was slow, but I managed to almost make back my entrance fee. We shall see how the rest of the show goes.
Ran into someone that I dated years and years ago.. and who is partially responsible for me being on this path. I haven't seen him in 8 years. He's also the person that introduced me to Molly, so at least he served some purpose. We are both unsure as far as how to feel about seeing this person again. We shall see what happens. I did however threaten to beat his head in within 5 minutes of seeing him again. I think that's promising.
Molly and I sent a flower with a sparkler in it to Doktar Kaboom, who performs across from my tent. We included the message of "Our cupcakes are moist and delicious." He was amused. I kind of want to have his babies.
Visited the local graveyard and took mass photos. Also did more EVP work that I still have to analyze.
Took a random trip to Bowling Green, Kentucky to see an underground river inside a cave. Boat rides in caves are far more entertaining than they should be.
Romped around the Louisville Art Museum and tried to find the last existing Bob's Big Boy so we could molest him. No dice.
Molly had to leave on Tuesday.. and now I'm all alone. So we'll see how things go. There will most likely be the need to pick up a part time job, considering I was told this was a 45,000 people show... and it's really more of a 15,000. But so far.. it's been worth it. It's gorgeous here, and I don't think I've ever seen so much green. I am constantly amazed at the amount of shrubbery around me and I love it.
Here's hope for the future. Toodles!
