I'm shocked at how much George Carlin's death has affected me.

Safe journey's you fucking bastard. We'll miss you.

In more mundane news.. this weekend was semi-awesome, and in tandem, also craptacular.

Sales on Saturday were just slightly above average, with some pretty spectacular weather.

Sunday however, the pretty dark clouds kept most people away. Then the torrential downpour at the end of the day took care of the rest. Second worst sales day in the shop's history.

But on the flipside.. had an awesome conversation with a pair of couples that took shelter in my booth. They also own a Yaris, and got a kick out of the fact that everything including my ginormous tent fits into a hatchback.

Once the couples made a break for it to their cars, I closed up most of the tent and headed to the pub, since there was NO ONE within site once the rain started.

Someone was nice enough to snap a photo of me walking into the pub wearing my chainmail halter and garb while being soaked from the rain.

I'm pretty sure the chainmail halter helped though when I asked the in uniform policeman in the pub if I could wear his hat and play with his gun.

Heh. He let me wear his hat. Then we talked about the doodads on his hat ( he was a Marshall something or other in charge person).. and I said that his badge and whatnot were his "flare". He proceeded to shake his butt and call them his " bling-bling".

Again.. reasons why I love my world.

Drank cider and devoured shepard's pie, and listened to a few performers before wandering back to the tent to "officially" close for the day. A baby bird proceeded to fly through the 2 foot gap entranceat that exact moment, and much chasing ensued. Finally caught the fluffball and took it outside into the grove of trees behind the tent.

You'd think after being chased and caught by something a couple hundred times your size you'd want to get the hell out of dodge. Instead it sat on my hand for a good 5 minutes just checking out the world and being perfectly content. I finally nudged it onto a tree branch where it sat for all of 3 seconds and then took off without a stumble. Much adorableness.

I'm so behind on writing.. I had a whole nother entry to write about last weekend, and driving to Tennessee to see Kristi.. and having dinner with one of the owners of the Louisiana show that came through the faire last Sunday. But I slack. Big surprise.

For now.. the world is ok. It's gorgeous here, and a perfect day for pick-nicking lazing about. So I think that's the plan.
