Industry and the Like..
Jan. 2nd, 2009 04:43 amSo yay! New years. Hello there 2009.. why don't you sit down and stay a spell?Let's make some memories.
New years for me consisted of getting lost, getting unlost, drinking champagne, and playing Robo-Rally. So all in all. Not terrible. Met some new people, that I'll probably never see again, but it was a pleasure to meet them none the less.
I have (kind of ashamed to admit this) FINALLY started really unpacking the car. Heh. And the house is slowly inching its way to a cleaner atmosphere. Slooooowwwwlly.
Day...6? And I still haven't had a smoky treat OR caffeine ( although I will admit to taking a half-drag off of Grog's cig at midnight on New Years... it's all he would let me have). No soda either. It's been all water and fruit juice. Trying to stick more with the water than the juice.
Today's projects include, more temp job hunting, finishing up an art project I started this evening, and more cleaning and unpacking. Plus working on my Etsy site, listing things on Ebay, and general all around "getting with it".
I finally caved tonight though, and made amazing Garlic and Parmesan Mac n Cheese from scratch. Not to squawk my own horn, but DAMN. Is tasty. A whole bulb (not clove, BULB) of garlic, heavy cream, fresh parm, and pasta, and you have goopy cheesy garlic deliciousness. So worth it.
Oh! Speaking of cheese! This evening I was introduced to the wonderment that is Repo: The Musical. Imagine every Goth,Steampunk,Sci-Fi cliche you can think of... and then throw in industrial Opera. Then throw in Anthony Stewart Head AND Paris Hilton.
Go see it. It's bloody, it's campy, it's pure undiluted orgasmic, indulgent, ultra cheese. You will quite possibly hate it, or you will want to hump its proverbial leg.
Sleep is sounding more and more inviting.
