Ummm...yay?

I'd like to say I don't care.  I really would. But I just don't think I am that evolved yet.  I'll work on it.

This is why I gave up on trying to do well...anything for my birthday. 

I'm trying not to be upset about it... but I admit it.. I am.   When my best friend doesn't even call... or text.. or ... you know.. show up?  Yeah.  

Of the numerous people who said " Why yes I WILL be there for Birthday Sushi and Bowling... only 4 ( a very lovely and wonderful 4... and thank you, Peg n Suze... I really did appreciate it..)  showed up. 

It turned out to be just Sushi.. which was lovely. 

I am going to work on not being annoyed at my friends.  It's just a huge pet peeve when people say they are going to show up, and then don't.  And I'll admit... dammit.. it actually mattered to me. 

I really should just get over myself.



Anyways... Tomorrow ( actually in 45 minutes)  I'm 33.  Yay.

Thanks. I know what to say. They're flakes. It's just part of their nature. It's nothing against them, it's just how they roll, and sometimes it has its side effect of unwittingly hurting other people. I can't change them, so I just have to accept it and love them for the rest of their numerous other more stellar qualities.

I am so so sorry :( I wish it were tonight because then I would have the money! I just didnt want to ask the bday girl to borrow money for her own bday party. :( I love you and like I said, I really would like to make it up to you this weekend if you'll let me. It does matter to me, not because of this post but because it is your bday and your special to me.

it used to be a massive event for me when i was there... now it seems to be just a smattering... yeah, i know not everyone likes ethiopian, but its my bday... suck it up i miss the old days... cards, prezzies, people, food, fun..... now we're lucky if we get an email, huh....

For what it's worth, I don't have a birthday the runs during a Faire season. I never get cards, presents, parties.

The last party a friend threw for me was in 1998.

I usually work on my birthday and *might* get flowers from my brother, or a cake if I go and buy it.

I think it's hard when we get used to a huge event and then expect the same each year. There's always a bit of me that want a parade and a huge celebration. It's only natural, I think, yet it's good to remember that most of us folks don't get that. Really ever.

I'm glad you were there too. For me I don't mind not doing a celebration.. it just irks me when people tell me they are going to be there, and then don't show up.

Ahh well. In the grand scheme.. it's just not a big deal. I have people I love and that's what's important.
