I'm home.

Have somehow managed to survive my first show with my very own booth. I'm amazed and still somewhat bemused by the fact that months ago I had been just idly dreaming of doing something like this. Taking my online business and actually doing something with it.

I pretty much broke even for this show.. which.. considering all that I spent to get the shop to this point( around $8,000), is pretty darned spectacular. This year I managed to purchase the tent, my eyepin machine, pay for the space, the booth fees, the materials, the employees.. etc. Many of those expenses I won't have to pay for next year..(tent,eyepin machine) which puts me ahead of the game. Which is teh awesome. And i now have more time to prepare and make stock.. plus look into other shows.

I'm also thinking that grocery shopping should be on my immediate "to do" list as for breakfast I've had 2 pickles and a couple of spoonfuls of peanut butter. Cause that's really all we have. Cause I am the slacker of the century and rarely eat much anymore anyways.

And I have to get ready to work my three 12 hour shifts starting tonight. Wheeeee.

And ze house is ze messy. Cleaning to ensue on Monday. Mass Cleaning.

I'm still sorting through my Granny's things.. even 3 years after she passed on. It's fascinating what one person can accumulate in a lifetime. The amount of Crap is ..well.. craptacular.

As is this entry.. go go random babble.

Are you now living in your grandmother's house? Do you get to keep it? You should. Wow. Are you going to be in AZ?

What the hell were you selling and where? I know nothing. I love LJ.

Ohhh Crikey.. so much to say!
Still living in Granny's house.. still absolutely NO clue what is going to happen to it. It's pretty much in permanent Limbo until someone gets a bug up their ass to do something about it. So I'm still in AZ for the most part.. Traveling kind of half on half off. I'll definitely be working the AZ show with Randolph again unless anything drastically untoward happens ( which I knock on fiberboard that it won't). I'm looking at buying a house in Georgia in the next year or so.. hrrmm.. working my ass off at a security firm doing night dispatch and managerial crap, and everytime I think of leaving they throw more money at me.. so I stay.
I started my own chainmail company a couple of years ago ( www.worldinchains.com).. and this year we got into the Louisiana show.. and we didn't sink.. heh.. so yeah.. in a very large nutshell that's what has been going on.
LJ is rather awesome..
I take it you'll be in AZ again.. yes?
Much love!

I'm totally proud when one of our generation gets their own booth. Go you. To break even at your first show is a big deal. Especially Hamond.
::round of applause::

Thanks hon.. that actually means alot to me. I have a constant and pernicious fear of falling flat on my face (metaphorically speaking).. so it's kind of nice to feel like I'm not failing miserably or making a complete ass out of myself ( which I really do excel at.. it's a talent)
yay..
