Needles and Pins..
Feb. 22nd, 2007 05:29 pmSo.. I THINK I was approved for the loan from the bank for the schoolhouse. I called today and the lady I spoke with mumbled something about sending out a packet and automatic withdrawels and something about homeowners insurance and.. yeah... except that it sounded like she was speaking with marbles in her cheeks.. so from what I can tell everything is a go.. I'm going to head to the bank Monday and see what if anything else, they need.
I need to send in my earnest check this week.. gah.. $1000... but it goes towards the house. Also need to sign paperwork and the like..
From the documents they sent me.. the house has 90% new plumbing.. the wiring is supposedly up to code.. and there's a new well that has been dug. Also it supposedly does not have termites. It needs some roofing work done ( a ridge vent and some shingling).. and it probably leaks.
The name of the school was "The Renno Schoolhouse" .. and I've been trying to do some research on it.. so far all I've come up with is that it was built in approximately 1915.. and I found a short blurb in someone's geneological website that mentions the school..
" At a cost of $4,000.00 a handsome brick building has been erected at Renno, located on a beautiful 4 acre lot, the gift of Capt. J.W.C. Bell. Three teachers will be employed."
And that's it. that was the fruit of like 6 hours of web surfing.
Oi.
Off to Thai food!

I really hope I don't get lynched.
