Comicon was fabulous. Nuff said.
Arrived home yesterday-ish.. very tired but happy. Had the honor of meeting and seeing lots of people.. got to sit in and listen to some really interesting panels with some surprise guests... got lots of Con shwag and comic books, and spent a goodly amount of time with loved ones. Yay.
So at the Con.. got to see in no particular order.. Neil Gaiman, Barbara Hambly,Leonard Nimoy,Orson Scott Card, Jim Balent and Holly Go Lightly of Broadsword comics, Frank Cho,Tad Williams, Terry Moore (omg,omg,omg.. FINALLY).. Brian Froud again...Scott Kurtz of PVP, umm...pretty much just a fuckton of people that I admire. I tried to restrain my screaming fangirl-ness,... I really honestly tried. I failed. I can't help but be the gushing dork sometimes.
Sunday was whiled away by sitting in a line waiting to put my application in to vend next year. I believe I have about a snowball's chance in an Easy bake oven of getting in.. but it's worth the shot. I still need to send them every bit of cash I have. Basically I was told to arrive at 0830 to put in my app. I get there around 9-ish and there are already people in line. THEN I was told that they don't start handing out the apps until noon. I wasn't even smart enough to bring a book. Go me! So I chatted with the guy next to me who said that he was the artist for Tad William's last book ( I still have to check that..).. and we did alot of the usual venting in line folderol .. He was told to show up at 10am. Oh yes and also an employee walked around and asked us to sit on the ground in line behind their curtains as if we were waiting in a foxhole because he didn't want the sheep to start lining up just because there was a line. He also told us that it didn't matter WHEN the apps were taken today just so long as they were turned in today. Hrm.. So.. more waiting. I geeked out again when I saw that Phil Foglio was waiting in line as well.. FINALLY noon rolls around and the apps are handed out.. Takes another 20 minutes or so to turn it in.. and we're all told that we won't know when we've been accepted for at least a few months.. probably January. Faaaaabbbulous.
So.. all this leads to probably not going to be in next year... but at least this year I was able to turn my application in.
That was a long paragraph about nothing really.
I also lost like... 4 lbs this week from walking around the Con. I think i'm on to something here.
Spent alot of time melting the brain with Wow. Always a pleasant past time. Went to see the Simpson's Movie which was way more entertaining than it should be.
Time to clean house and do more work.. only 3 months left until Louisiana.
