I never do this.. but I'm going to ask for a public opinion..

Nipple Piercings. Erotic? Or Gross?

( and yes.. I'm considering having them done.. been thinking on this for years now )

Pretty much now is the right time since I won't have to wear a bodice for about a month.. but I'm just curious. Personally I think they're hot.

I know if I hate them I can just take them out, but I wanted to hear what the rest of the world thinks.

Not my thing. But then, piercings in general aren't my thing. Probably partially because I'm so damn sensitive to metal that even getting my ears pierced has been difficult, and I can't wear earrings on a regular basis. I've seen eyebrow rings that I think look good on the person wearing them (also seen ones that make me shudder), ears I have no problem with, unless the gauge is insanely large, nose and labret piercings I've seen look good and bad, depending.

I think it comes down to the style of the person. There are some people who can pull certain things off. I think you can probably do nipple rings in a way that wouldn't make me flinch, from the pics you posted. But nipple rings especially make me shudder a bit, mostly because mine are soooo sensitive. Hehe.

Heh.. yeah.. and you know I never thought of myself as a piercings girl.. it's always been tattoos,.. but the nipples I've been thinking on for years now, and I figure might as well just go forth with it.

I wouldn't pierce anything of mine, but I do enjoy 'em on other people.
Sometimes I get to enjoy 'em a lot, but that's for another post.

If'n you do go through with it, I know you'll go to someone reputable.

Heh.. oh my..

I will go to a reputable shop.. there's one here that has a stellar track record with everyone who has gone that i've spoken with.

oi.. suck! That is one issue that scares me a bit since infected nipples are not a picnic in the park from what I've been reading.

Mine are pierced. Well, only one is anymore. I took them out when I was doing groundfighting classes in kung fu, and one closed on me after two hours. I've had theses for years, so I thought that was weird. Now I enjoy the different sensations with one pierced and one not. Who cares if anyone else thinks they're erotic or gross - the only person whose opinion matters is you own.

And I agree... and other's opinions aren't going to sway me one way or another, but I am curious as to what others think about them.

I've heard that nip piercing will close at ridiculous rate now matter how long they've been healed. How long did yours take to heal?

It didn't take any longer than any other piercing. 3 weeks maybe?

If you think they are hot, why does my opinion matter?

Although, I don't really know what my opinion is. I'm torn.

Partially sheer curiosity..

and also it's nice to get an opinion from people who may have had them done at one time or another, and learn what their experiences were with them.

Piercings of ANY type, actually.

if its going to enhance your self image or experience, then yay!
i take issue when people get pierced so they can be like hey look at my boobies.

heh.. nah.. I want to do it so that I can stare at my own boobies.
I just find the look of the piercings incredibly ..umm... stimulating. And I have heard that it can enhance certain bedroom affairs.

I just typed all of that with the voice of Brakk in my head. Great.

I like the look of a lot of piercings. I will add in contrast to that I removed Aracelio's because I thought it extremely foolish for a man with a rock hard chest and small nipples who has a history of violence to wear them. It just seemed like a liability. The rings looked way too easy to rip off to me.

I never wanted mine pierced because firstly I don't think I'd look good with them, and secondly I would most likely get hurt dressing myself. At least I know I am clumsy.

I had my (non existent) labia pierced and had to take it out as there wasn't enough meat there for me to support even a tiny ring. Crow showed me her ring and I realized what I had to be suffering from was hood envy. Apparently some of us have one, like, a big meaty shelf, and others have a nub so small that it makes a small ring insupportable. So, my point in this digression is if it will match aesthetically the size and shape of your nipples, and they will not get ripped out by inherent clumsiness (they are way more out there than your clit or earlobes)
then I say make yourself happy. If they don't work for you, all you've lost is some money on piercing and rings....and some time confined in your bodice.

True true.. and now the phrase "Hood Envy" has a whole different picture in my head than what I would have originally thought. Awesome.

I think it depends on the person. I only know one person (maybe two) who has them, and which I've actually had the privilege to see up close. They looked good on her. I don't think I've seen a bad pic of any other nipple piercing, but who knows?

If it's what you want to do, go for it.

(I've only had the privilege to look, from a distance of 2-3 feet. Haven't had any further privileges, unfortunately, so can't attest to any pros of a nipple piercing. LOL)

I've seen them on many people, and even played with a few.. and I love them.. my biggest fears are infection, loss of sensitivity, and the possible grossing out of future naked partners. Because that is always awkward.

Follow proper cleaning advice to minimize the infection issue, and find out what your future partners like/dislike before getting to that stage.

As far as the loss of sensitivity, how often is that an issue?

The only time nipple piercings look like ass is under the following conditions:
You have the wrong size jewelry for your body. Cuz "dress for your figure" goes for more than just clothes. Tiny nipples + huge rings looks like crap and vice versa.
If you have those apple in a sock tits or have had many children and are a hippie who refuses to wear a bra so your boobs look like pizza slices stapled to your chest. If either of those is the case, you just have unattractive breasts and adding rings is kinda like putting a tiara on a waterbuffalo. Under those circumstances I recomend some light plastic surgery before piercing anything.
And lastly, if your piercer is a retard and has made you crooked.

Mine are pierced and I've never regretted it. Mind you, they WILL migrate. Most piercings do over time unless they're in cartilidge. So any piercer who doesn't make his little guide marks at the very base of your nips is a moron. Mine started out at the base and have moved up till they're about in the middle now. They seem to have stopped, but migration is the main reason people lose piercings if a mosh pit isn't to blame. A good piercer will take that fact into consideration and place the piercing to allow for it as much as possible.

But as always, the opinions of others should never matter as much as your own in matters of personal adornment and beauty. My two cents is go for it.

I love you and your descriptive phrases..

heh.. besides that.. have you lost any sensitivity with yours? I think that is my main concern is, well, I like the feel of my pointy girl bits and I'd like to continue to be able to feel them. I know the body has an amazing ability to regenerate a majority of things, but I at least want to know the risks i'm taking (besides possible infection) .

Those risks are always present. It's the chance you take. Major rejection doesn't happen often (I read the post your friend below made and wanted to reassure you) if you already have successfully healed other piercings then odds are good your nips will be no different.

If you develop heavy keloid then I'd say skip it, but you're white so you prolly don't, am I right? Keloid usually comes with pigment. Not always, but usually. Scar tissue is one of the main reasons people lose sensitivity, the other being nerve dammage. However, the nipple is packed with nerves and the loss of a few shouldn't matter unless other factors are in play.

I never had particularly sensitive nips and I still don't. So nothing has changed for me. Most people I know with pierced nips report no change at all. I'm not sure that the reports of increased sensitivity are accurate. It's possible, since you'll have a slight THO almost all the time after you're pierced, but like anything, once you get used to the sensation it's no longer remarkable. I also didn't experience increased sensitivity after my hood was done so either I'm a total anomaly (very possible) or people exagerate (also very possible). However my sensitivity didn't decrease in either case and both sets of piercings have aged well. I've had them for at least a decade each. The tits a little longer I think. Maybe 12 years. The only change is slight migration in the nips which will happen, and slight stretching in the labial piercings, which will also happen. But neither reaction is unexpected or outside of expected perameters for the piercing.

And for what it's worth, I too have heard good things about HTC and I don't even live there.

Mine never healed, and were quickly moving to the surface (rejecting). One got infected and I had to do a round of antibiotics. After a little over a year I took them out because they pretty much always hurt, and was tired of not being able to have any mouth contact. As a result of the whole experiment, I've lost 90% of sensitivity.

That's the chance you take.

Plus, no matter what people tell you, I was working in an airport and about 20% of the time they'd set the metal detectors off and I was tired of getting wanded practically every day.

I thought about you while contemplating all of this ( still haven't had it done but it is on My List)

Where did you get yours done by the way? I'm thinking of HTC since from what everyone has told me they have an amazing staff, and I've heard no complaints from anyone that has gone there. I didn't know if you had gone there, or some other local place.

I don't know if this is just my experience, but I fly several times a year and have 27 piercings and have only set off the dectors twice in about 13 years. Detectors vary from airport to airport though so keep it in mind.
