Almost done with my applications. Trying to get some actual photos printed up instead of just pictures on copy paper.

But no. Oh no. My HP "photo printer".. seems to take umbrage with that concept.

I'm already not a huge fan of HP, partly thanks to their brilliance at being able to create programs that manage to conflict with their own hardware. Their Photosmart program? Constant "fatal errors" and half the time it crashes. Or just doesn't respond at all. Or the fact that there's been mass amounts of documented errors with the wireless cards in their Pavilion series.. and they did nothing about it. (Note,.. found this out after mine died.. and they kept trying to get me to fuck with the BIOS... oh HELLS no) Just kept right on using the same cheap wireless card.

Now? The printer ( which has all the intelligence of a retarded ant).. refuses to print my 4X6 photos... on my 4X6 photo paper.. because it says there's a "size conflict".

Wha??

Dear HP. Stop with the crack smoking, start with the making of a decent product. K'thanks. Bai!

I will never buy another one again.

Same thing happened to me last week. It insisted my pics would not fit on the paper, although 4x6 they were. It let me print them as 3x5 on 4x6 paper, so I got my pics out but there is a DEVIL in my hp printer. I called tech support after my warranty ran out (they replaced my printer ttwice for having epileptic seizures and behaving badly) and the gal confessed the only model she knew not to be returned for issues regularly was the 7soething psc which was close to $300.
My old one in AZ still works. I'm going to take it home this year and retire the new piece of crap.

well at least I know I'm not the only one who goes through this hell. I mean, I'm grateful, because the printer and lappy were Christmas gifts... and I love my lappy to death.. but.. yeah. I will never purchase HP again.

Did you have as much fun with their tech supports as I did? My HP camera died about a year after I got it.. oh.. and I had to do a nuke and pave to get my photo program to work again on the lappy.. and tech support was NO help whatsoever. When I understood what they were saying in the first place. Although the guy was very nice, and was surprised I knew where Bangladesh was.

Fortunately last year hp didn't have overseas tech for mac users, so I got an actual American. They knew the thing was crap, but all they could do was keep shipping me a new one until the warranty was up.
