The flavor of MOLE
Dec. 5th, 2006 07:48 pmWTF?
On a random whim I found this little box of beef boullion and was reading the side.. because one side is in spanish and the other in english.
Verbatim.. this is what it says..
"Use one or more cubes to enhance the flavor of soups, stews, sauces, MOLE, rice, vegetables and pasta.
I capitalized mole for em-phasis. But.. what the hell???
Since when do we eat moles on a regular basis???
I peeked to the other side, and it says it in spanish as well. Not Guacamole.. just..mole.
And then I wonder about the flavor of mole.. and Molly and I start talking about the guac-less mole.. adn well
It all sounds just a little dirty.

I kinda suspected it was something like that.. but it definitely got me thinking of mole stew.. mole bits.. mole-kebabs..
I'm definitely going to try it now though. I like anything with a kick.

Date: 2006-12-06 05:52 pm (UTC)Good mole is hard to find though. Don't go anywhere that isn't owned, run and staffed by Mexicans (preferably an old lady or five), make sure the customers are mostly brown (if the brown people eat there it's home cookin') and judge by word of mouth. It's the only way to find good mole. If you lived near Fort Hankock, TX I could tell you where to go.
